Coverage area and services

Each Two Men and a Truck franchise is independently owned, with locations in 48 states, Canada, Ireland, and the UK. That means services can vary by location. They typically offer both local and long-distance moving solutions in a 26-foot truck. Quotes include loading and unloading. Packing and unpacking services will cost more.

These specialized services might be available, depending on your location:

Expedited moving

Most locations offer expedited long-distance moving. For this service, Two Men and a Truck provides a 26-foot truck with two workers to handle the move, including packing, loading, transportation and unloading.

Value Flex® shipping

Select locations offer the Value Flex long-distance moving option. With this service, your things (up to 1,000 lbs.) are loaded into a cardboard shipping crate and transported with a third-party carrier. You’ll get a 5-business-day window of when to expect your belongings to arrive, but an exact delivery date can’t be guaranteed.

Storage

If you need storage during your move, Two Men and a Truck will unload your things into a storage locker and then deliver them when you’re ready, for an extra fee. They will also unload items into local self-storage facilities. Both options involve loading and unloading belongings multiple times, which increases the risk of loss or damage.

Pricing

Because the company is a full-service mover, be prepared for Two Men and a Truck’s rates to be significantly higher than DIY options.

They usually price long-distance moves based on the shipment's weight and the distance. Because each franchise sets its own rates, the cost of a move can vary by location. The number of movers needed, stairs, walking distance and the time required to load and unload (and pack or unpack, when applicable) will also affect the price.

You must pay a deposit when booking the move, and the amount will vary by location.

Requesting a quote

You can request a Two Men and a Truck quote online or by phone, but you’ll also need to provide an inventory list and a weight estimate for the belongings in the home. A company representative will likely visit to finalize the pricing. If the actual weight is heavier, the charge for the move may increase.

Two Men and a Truck recommends an in-home estimate if you:

  • Are moving out of state
  • Have a home over 1,500 square feet
  • Have narrow doors, hallways or staircases
  • Live where a moving truck cannot park close to your home
  • Own bulky items like safes or pianos

Coverage area and services

Unlike Two Men and a Truck, U-Pack service centers are not privately owned, so policies and regulations are consistent across every location. We serve all 50 states, plus Puerto Rico and Canada, with long-distance moving solutions.

Choose between ReloCube® moving containers or space in a 28’ moving trailer for most moves. Cubes are constructed of weather-resistant metal, making them more durable than the cardboard Value Flex crate. Plus, they hold up to 2,500 lbs. of belongings. Our moving trailers offer flexible space from a minimum of 5 linear feet to the whole trailer.

U-Pack is a DIY moving service that allows you to save money by handling packing, loading, unloading and unpacking yourself. However, if you need help, we’ve got you covered with referrals to local moving labor for as much or as little assistance as you need. You’re not stuck with a one-size-fits-all moving solution offered by a full-service mover (at a higher price).

Our flexible moving solutions include:

  • Door-to-door delivery with an average transit time of 4-6 business days
  • Guaranteed delivery available
  • 3 business days for loading and 3 more for unloading
  • Storage (based on availability)

Storage

U-Pack offers a portable storage solution (subject to availability). That means your belongings stay in the original equipment, so you can rest easy knowing that less handling reduces the risk of damage to your belongings.

ReloCubes can be conveniently stored at a local service center until you’re ready for delivery. Moving trailers can store belongings for up to 4 months.

Pricing

U-Pack offers easy-to-understand pricing with fewer variables because we don’t charge by weight. Our rates include the equipment, transportation (fuel) and standard liability coverage.

With ReloCubes, you can reserve as many as you might need and pay only for the ones used. We’ll pick up the extra empty Cubes at no cost! If you’re using our moving trailer, you can use a minimum of 5 linear feet up to the full length of the trailer and pay only for the space used.

Plus, we don’t require a deposit to book a move — and you don’t pay until your things are in transit!
