7 customized solutions for moving challenges
Every move is unique, but there are some common themes our moving consultants have heard. Here are some ways U-Pack can help with these different scenarios:
1. I need to schedule a move, but I don’t know where I’m going to live
U-Pack understands it can take time to find a place to live. We allow you to schedule a move without a forwarding address easily.
All we need is the zip code for the destination to give you a quote and make a reservation. Then, you’ll just need to update the final address* up to 7 days before the moving date.
*Changing the destination zip code might cause a price change.
2. I don’t know how much stuff I’m moving
If you’re currently downsizing and just not sure yet how much stuff will go to the new home, a flexible moving solution is a must-have. U-Pack offers two flexible solutions: ReloCube® moving containers or space in a 28’ moving trailer.
Empty Cubes are picked up at no extra cost, so it’s okay to order as many as you might need since you’ll only pay for the ones used. Note: Ordering additional ReloCubes during the loading process will have an extra delivery fee.
With a moving trailer, use less space (down to a minimum of 5 linear feet) and have the rate reduced. The reverse is also true — fill more space in the moving trailer and pay for each extra linear foot at the rate listed on the reservation.
3. My move needs to be fast (or slower than average)
U-Pack shipments are faster than most options, averaging only 4-6 days in transit. If you need your belongings on an exact date, ask a moving consultant about guaranteed delivery. The service is handy for scheduling moving labor on a specific day.
We allow 3 full days to load or unload the moving equipment, but we can also arrange for earlier pickup.
If you need more time, U-Pack has storage options. Store things in ReloCube moving containers at origin or destination (based on availability) for as long as you need. Or store in a moving trailer for up to 4 months.
4. I can’t move during peak summer season
Many people choose to move during the summer months, but it doesn’t work out for everyone. U-Pack makes year-round reservations with no deposits required, and we can even help you move during the holidays.
If plans change, reservations can be canceled up to 7 days before the move at no charge.
5. Parking might be a problem
Parking at apartment complexes or storage facilities can be tricky, and some homes may have little or no parking options. That’s why we offer service center delivery (which will also save money) and other solutions when parking isn’t ideal.
If you have parking available that can’t be used overnight, we may be able to arrange same-day drop-off and pickup. Just call one of our moving consultants to work out the best option for your parking situation.
6. The weather forecast looks dicey
Rain on moving day can put a frown on your face, but since U-Pack allows 3 full business days for loading and unloading, there’s extra time to wait out a downpour. And we’ll work with you if inclement weather prevents delivery or pickup of the moving equipment.
