Erie Canal Museum 

Housed in the Syracuse Weighlock Building constructed in 1850, the Erie Canal Museum is a tribute to an engineering marvel and its role in America’s social and economic development. Upside-Down Traffic Light 

You’ll find this oddity in Tipperary Hill, a West Side neighborhood. According to legend, the Irish immigrants who lived in the area in the mid-1920s took exception to the new traffic light with “British” red on top of “Irish” green. After the original light and several replacements were broken, the city agreed to place the green light on top, and it’s been there ever since!
