Moving from Chicago, IL, to Dallas, TX

A big city with southern charm

There’s a saying that everything is bigger in Texas, but that’s not the case when comparing the populations of Chicago, IL, and Dallas, TX. The “Windy City” of Chicago boasts a population of just over 2.7 million residents, with over 9.6 million in the metro. While “D-Town” Dallas is large, its city population is only 1.3 million, with around 7.6 million in the metro.

With Southern charm and a growing economy, Dallas is truly a star in The Lone Star State. Keep reading to learn more about your new home base.

Warm up in Dallas

Getting around to see the town

Like Chicago, Dallas has plenty to do and see whether you’re an early bird or a night owl. The main difference you’ll notice is that the public transportation options in Dallas are less extensive than what you had in Chicago. Most people in Dallas will need a car to get around.
