Due to crowded conditions and traffic, many Bostonians and visitors rely on public transportation. The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) operates “the T,” with subways, buses, regional rail stations, commuter ferries and a door-to-door shared ride service for people with disabilities.
