Raleigh, however, experiences all four seasons and gets an average of 4 inches of snow annually. With over 200 sunny days each year, Raleigh residents can enjoy plenty of outdoor time at one of over 200 parks and recreation centers throughout the city. 

The fair life 

Did you know that one of the largest state fairs in the country is held in Raleigh every year? It’s true! The October event, which first took place in 1853, typically lasts 10 days and features carnival rides, livestock shows, arts and crafts and food vendors. There’s something fun for almost everyone.
