Enterprise offers several equipment options, including pickup trucks, cargo vans and stakebed trucks, but box trucks are the most common vehicles for moving. The box trucks range from 15 feet to 26 feet.

How does U-Pack equipment compare to Enterprise?

FAQs about Enterprise box truck rental

What are the rental requirements?

Each Enterprise location sets its own policies, but typically you must:

• Be at least 21 years old. Drivers ages 21–24 may have restrictions and additional fees. In New York and Michigan, drivers as young as 18 may be able to rent, subject to additional fees and restrictions.
• Have a valid government-issued driver's license. 
• Provide proof of insurance.
• Have an accepted form of payment. Most Enterprise Truck Rental locations require a major credit card in the renter's name, and some may accept debit cards linked to a checking account.

What does payload mean?

The payload of the truck is the total weight of everything, including the vehicle, contents, passengers and fuel. Typical household belongings rarely exceed the maximum payload. If you have particularly heavy items, check with your local Enterprise Truck Rental location for advice.

Do I need a CDL to drive the box truck? 

States don't typically require a commercial driver's license (CDL) for trucks with payloads of less than 26,000 pounds, which exceeds the maximum for all available Enterprise Rental trucks.

Can I rent a moving truck from any Enterprise location?

No. Only Enterprise Truck Rental locations offer box trucks for moving, and equipment varies by location.

Does Enterprise work for one-way moves?

Technically, you can use an Enterprise box truck to move to another city, whether it is in or out of state, but keep in mind that you must return the truck to the original rental location. That means you’re paying for fuel for a rental truck round-trip, which can be especially expensive when moving out of state. And you would have the added expense of traveling back to your new home after dropping off the truck.

How much does it cost to rent an Enterprise moving truck?

Costs will vary based on the date of your move, equipment size and availability. You’ll typically pay a base rental rate, a per-mile surcharge and applicable taxes or fees. Damage protection and insurance are offered for separate fees, and you’re responsible for fuel costs and for returning the vehicle with a full tank.

Can I tow my car with the truck?

No. Enterprise does not allow its box trucks to tow vehicles or trailers. However, some locations offer pickup trucks that can tow.
