The cost of renting a moving trailer
Cost is often one of the key considerations when choosing a moving company, especially when relocating a whole household out of state or across the country. Luckily, figuring out your moving cost doesn’t have to be complicated.
If you’re looking for a budget-friendly moving service and don’t want to drive a rental truck long distance, using a moving trailer from a DIY service like U-Pack® is an excellent option. But what will it cost?
Keep reading to learn how much you can expect to pay and how to save money on your move with U-Pack.
U-Pack moving trailer prices
The current average cost for a U-Pack moving trailer is around $2,800 for 17 linear feet (recommended for homes 1,500 to 1,800 SF). But keep in mind that moving prices will vary based on the date, distance and size of your home.
One of the best things about U-Pack moving trailers is their flexibility. We’ll give you a quote based on the size of your home, but if you use more or less space (down to a minimum of 5 linear feet), we’ll adjust your price up or down. It’s that simple!

How much will you pay for a U-Pack move?
With U-Pack, you don’t have to guess about your price. You can get a free, no-obligation moving quote online by selecting the size of your home and anticipated moving timeframe.
If you use more or less space in the trailer, your price will be adjusted up or down according to the per-foot rate on your reservation. For example, if you get a quote for 13 linear feet but only use 9 linear feet, then your price will be reduced by 4 linear feet based on your per-foot rate. So, if your per-foot rate is $100, then you would save $400 on the cost of your move.
See how much space you might need and adjust the linear feet up or down on the quote to see how the price changes.
